English Language Teaching Assistant Internship

Description: Language Connexion is an English education management company based in Paris, France. We work predominantly with primary and secondary schools and businesses around France to offer our dynamic style of language learning to all ages. For our “European Classes” project, which started with French partner schools three years ago, we are looking for language assistants to give French pupils a true, immersive experience of the English language. Through this program, our aim is to maximise English comprehension by teaching non-linguistic subjects. We have opportunities in numerous locations in France, from Paris to Marseille! We also have flexible placement dates with typical placements being from : September - April, January - July OR September - December WHAT WILL THIS PLACEMENT CONSIST OF? o One-week training either face to face or online depending on your placement o Teaching 24 hours a week, along with 11 hours of assisted preparation in one of our partner schools in France, and co-teaching certain subjects, such as art, sport and science to pupils aged from 3-11 years old o Weekly training sessions with a pedagogical manager o Helping staff with the supervision of pupils during non-class hours (break and lunch times) o Weekly phone-calls with Language Connexion to discuss concerns and evaluate your progress WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY? o You will have a key role in influencing pupils’ relationship with language, which makes it very rewarding o Opportunity to develop professional and transferable skills including gaining experience in public speaking, subjects’ and activities’ preparation, team working, language skills, creativity and autonomy Available support and advice from Language Connexion regarding teaching and helping with a smooth transition to life in France WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? ✔ Native or excellent English language level ✔ Good basis in the French language ✔ You enjoy working with/being around kids (previous experience working with children is preferred but not mandatory) ✔ You are independent and positive, and have a vibrant and energetic personality We encourage you to apply ASAP, please send us your CV!
